Running Journey Accounts
The Winning Experience by Richard Brown, Institute
of Human Development, 1996
In May 1995 Richard Brown regained the record for running
from Land’s End to John O’Groats, in a time of 10 days 2
hours and 25 minutes, breaking the record by over 13 hours. At the same time his wife Sandra was reducing
the ladies record by nearly 8 hours.
This book is intended as a motivational “how to win in life” text, using
the run as an example. Fortunately it is
quite easy to separate his readable account of the organisation and experience
of the trip from the rest. Recommended.
So Many Miles for Mary by Philip David, Merton Priory Press, 2003
An account of a 2300-mile run around Britain to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Nurses.
